Teniel Ramikie, PhD

Teniel S. Ramikie, PhD, is currently a post-doctoral research fellow in the Neurobiology of Fear laboratory and a HHMI-sponsored Helen Hay Whitney Foundation Fellow. Dr. Ramikie earned her PhD at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where her research focused on elucidating mechanisms of endocannabinoid synaptic biology within stress-regulating brain regions. As a post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Ressler’s laboratory, she has expanded these research interests to include investigating the mechanisms that underlie the pathophysiology of stress-related psychiatric disease states, particularly in females.

To this end, Dr. Ramikie employs multidisciplinary techniques to examine processes underlying lasting modifications in neural circuits, associated with pathological behavioral states, using disease models of fear and anxiety disorders.
